Hey, how’s life treating ya?

Oh, by the way, Mac Miller published the 10th year anniversary of GO:OD AM. Give it a listen, you might like it. Now to the post.

I wanted to share something I’ve noticed recently.

First of all, do you wake up early? Say, 5-6 in the morning. Then you know that groggy feeling after a bad night’s sleep. Moody music in the headphones, cold wind blowing. Blah blah blah. I know it’s not good for me, but hey, there’s something romantic about it. Some of my best poems and posts came out at 11 pm, when I didn’t have the energy to fix my mistakes. And these mistakes turned into carefully put up words you read every Sunday. But there is another side of the coin.

Late nights lead me to all sorts of troubles. You might know the ‘late night text’ syndrome. In the heat of the moment the text seems like the peak of human intelligence. And rereading it in the morning makes you cringe. Let’s just go to sleep and leave the deepest thoughts to ourselves or the Notes app.

And I’m not talking about late night dialogs in real life, they are beautiful. In fact, I think we should all have them more often. A person you’ve known for just one day could overnight become your best friend. You just click on another level. Moments like this shape our whole lives. So go out there and make mistakes face to face, not slouched in your bed at 3 am.

It’s a short one. Please don’t make decisions late at night, especially over a text or a call. Do it face to face. And if you have something to say—make it bold.

Peace.
